Privacy policy
Effective 6 July 2026
About this policy
This policy explains how Helpy handles information in the Helpy Customer and Helpy Vendor apps and related web experiences.
Information we handle
•
Account details such as your name, Google email address, verified mobile number, and Firebase account identifier, and records of the terms versions you accepted.
•
Activity you choose to submit, including favourites, likes, ratings, reviews, provider reports, review reports, blocked-user choices, and vendor listing details.
•
Foreground device location only when you choose Use current location. Helpy derives a service PIN code and stores the selected location on your device. Exact coordinates are not written to the Helpy Firestore database.
•
Security and authentication information processed by Google and Firebase to provide sign-in, phone verification, abuse prevention, and cloud data storage.
How we use information
•
Authenticate accounts and protect account actions.
•
Find providers serving the selected PIN code and open phone calls you initiate.
•
Sync favourites, likes, reviews, reports, and vendor listing information.
•
Maintain service quality, investigate abuse, and respond to support requests.
Sharing and public information
Helpy uses Google services, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, to process and store app data. We do not sell personal information. Your account name, rating, and review text are visible with a published review. Published vendor listing details may also be visible to other users. Starting a call opens the phone app on your device; Helpy does not automatically send your mobile number to a provider.
Security
Helpy uses encrypted network connections, Firebase-managed encryption at rest, verified authentication, and Firestore access rules to protect data. Administrative access is limited to authorised Helpy operations. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we investigate suspected misuse or unauthorised access.
Reviews and moderation
Reviews are user-generated content. Customers accept the current terms and community guidelines during account registration, and Helpy records the accepted version and time. Existing customers without a current agreement record may be asked once before their next review. Users can report reviews and hide a reviewer's contributions. Helpy may hide content or restrict accounts after reviewing reports or detecting policy violations.
Retention and deletion
We retain account data while the account is active and as needed to operate Helpy. You can permanently delete your account and associated Helpy data from the Help and support page. You can also contact helpy.support@gmail.com if the in-app process is unavailable. Limited security or audit records may be retained where required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
Your choices
•
Enter a PIN code manually instead of granting location permission.
•
Change location permission at any time in device settings.
•
Sign out or permanently delete your account.
Children
Helpy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
